The WavePhoenix is a reverse-engineered replacement for the Nintendo GameCube Wavebird Wireless Controller. Our MSBM-Altboard variant redesigns the PCB to use an alternative wireless package to get around availability limitations on the original wireless package, while both reducing assembly cost and increasing wireless range. In addition, we redesigned the case from scratch to accommodate the new PCB. Also an additional experimental model called WavePhoenix-MSBM-Altboard-USB has been created by combining the board to a RP2040 to allow use of the Wavebird directly with PC and Nintendo Switch.
